Lemon Grove Park Water Usage Plan
This was my final semester project for my Environmental Engineering 101 class. Working with a partner on this was extremely helpful, as we were able to share ideas and solutions with one another. When we first arrived at the site, we first looked for facilities that used water, observed how often they were used, and interviewed people at the park about how important these water utilizing facilities were to their experience. We then used this information, along with the water usage data provided by the City of Lemon Grove, to formulate and tailor our solutions to minimize water usage while maintaining the aesthetic and appeal of the park. We stood before the Lemon Grove city manager, presented this report, and recommended a solution that would replace the least used grass at the park with sustainable, native plants and save the City of Lemon Grove over $4,000 a year in water costs. The report below dives deeper into these processes and our solution.
